Beads at Dusti Creek

NEXT GENERAL MEETING - June 17th - 7:00 PM Chair Sale & Potluck We have our annual potluck and chair sale. Please bring a dish or platter of yummy food and a serving utensil. Please label your utensil and dish so they can return home with you and not someone else! PBS will provide drinks. For the annual chair sale, vendors are asked to bring their own chair or TV tray for items they will sell because table and chair space is at a premium for dining. Space is limited to one chair or TV tray per member. A limited number of chair-sized spaces will be marked off at the edge of the stage. These will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. PGE tables and chairs are reserved for pot-lucking. To continue to help the Bead Museum in Glendale, Arizona, members have donated items that will be raffled for $1.00 per ticket. Please come ready to help support this worthy cause. NOTE: There will be no meetings in July and August. We'll see you all at the September general meeting. Have a wonderful summer! June Bead Classes Marci Stone of Portland will be teaching bead weaving classes for PBS in June. Here is info on the classes. Check your June PBS newsletter for the application. Early Bird Beading 6-7pm Just bring your projects, share your technique tips, show off your creations with fellow members.

General Membership Monthly Meetings This is our monthly event. We have a very active membership who attend our meetings. Generally, every month we have a speaker complete with a slide show representing their work or the story they are telling. The topics might be marvelous lampworked beads and the artist who made them or how seed beads are made in the Czech Republic. We might hear from seed bead artists who use those little bitty beads to make fabulous necklaces or sculptural pieces. We might see a slide show about the families who make Hill Tribe Silver in Thailand. Around the holidays we have a potluck and make earrings to give to a women's shelter. Very diverse subjects for a very diverse group of folks who enjoy, like, or love beads. Be sure to CLICK HERE for all the meeting details. The meeting starts at 7:00 pm; however if you come at 6:00 pm, we have free beading lessons, demonstrations and general bead help. Be sure to bring your supplies, beads and questions. We are always happy to see new faces, so please come join us. 6th Annual Portland Bead Society Retreat Where? Tolovana Inn, Cannon Beach. When? March 6, 7 & 8, 2009. Want to know more? See our Retreat section!	Bead Embellished Christmas Tree At our November 2008 meeting we all got together and made earrings to embellish small Christmas Trees. Some members made necklaces and/or bracelets and brought them to the meeting to put on the tree. The decorated trees were donated to a women's shelter.
